Assessment and Reporting

Twice a year; parents, students and teachers sit down to discuss the welfare, progress and future learning goals of each student at our school.  Parents are also welcome at all times to discuss any aspects of their child’s education with the teachers. We greatly value the part the home / school partnership plays in the education of our students.

During the first meeting, held early in February, parents are given the opportunity to tell the classroom teacher all about their child; teachers value any information that will help them ensure a happy, productive year of learning.

The second meeting takes place at the end of Term 2, and involves reflecting on the child’s progress in the first half of the year.  These are student led conferences whereby the child discusses what achievements they have made at school and what individual learning goals they have set for the next stage of their education.

Student School reports are sent home twice a year (June and December).  These report to parents about the academic growth of their child.  Other assessments occur throughout the year to ensure curriculum planning is tailored to the needs of each individual student at Wallarano.
