It is with immense pleasure that I welcome you to Wallarano Primary School. I hope you find this website informative and indicative of the inclusive learning culture that is at the heart of Wallarano.
All staff members work very hard to create exciting and stimulating classrooms that are highly focused on providing Powerful Learning that gives children an opportunity to be excited about the knowledge and skills they are acquiring.
At Wallarano, we want many things. We want our students to love coming to school. We want them to have a driving ambition to be successful. We want them to strive to achieve ambitious goals. We want them to take pride in their achievements and also value the effort they have put towards that achievement.
Students are taught to work both independently and in groups and are given regular feedback on how they are succeeding academically, socially and in the development of positive work habits. Weekly assessments ensure students are appropriately challenged every day. The use of learning technologies is of the highest priority.
At Wallarano, we believe children will only reach their full learning potential when they are in an environment where they experience humour, strong personal connections with clear and explicit instruction that makes sense and is purposeful. All students are taught and encouraged to develop social skills such as appropriate interactions, co-operation, mutual respect, tolerance and understanding.
Teachers ensure the provision of a motivating and engaging environment. In catering for different learning styles, they provide explicit teaching of skills and attributes, develop thinking skills and have very high expectations of students to achieve through personal effort and hard work.
Wallarano is a Great School made up of Great People – students, teachers, support staff and parents.
I invite you to come along to our school for a personal tour so you can make up your own mind!
Please feel free to ring me at any time if you have questions or queries.
