Performing Arts

The Performing Arts program is structured to increase student skills and talents in Music, Drama, Dance and Performance from Foundation to Grade 6. Children also develop many additional skills, such as persistence, confidence, resilience, working in a team and performance. The program has a strong emphasis on music education, weaving in drama and dance skills as appropriate. Common instruments learnt include African Drums, Recorders and Ukuleles. Every second year we run a School Production, providing the opportunity for students to apply skills they have learnt in class. This also allows our parents and wider community to see the talent we have at Wallarano and see their children shine.

Wallarano runs a vibrant extra-curricular Performing Arts program. There is a very popular Junior Choir and Senior Choir for students who love to sing and perform, providing them with opportunities to share their talents and interests with the school and wider community. When it is school production season, students have the opportunity to audition for our Drama Club, where they can further develop their acting skills.  Wallarano regularly participates in outside school programs, such as the Victorian State School Spectacular.
