End of Term 3 Assembly

We warmly invite family members and friends to join us for our End of Term 3 Assembly on Friday 18th September at 2:00pm in the school hall.

We’re excited to celebrate the end of another wonderful term together and share our eagerly anticipated ‘End of Term Video’. We can’t wait to see you there!

Team Colours Day – Friday 18th September

To finish the term on a high, Friday 18th September will be Team Colours Day at Wallarano Primary School! Students and staff are invited to come dressed in the colours or jersey of their favourite sporting team. Whether it’s footy, soccer, basketball, netball, cricket or another sport, we encourage everyone to show their team spirit and wear their colours with pride.

Let’s make the last day of term a fun and colourful celebration of sport, teamwork and school spirit!

Springvale Indoor Sports

Exciting news! We’re launching a Junior Futsal League on Thursday evenings during Term 4 for U11 and U13 players.

It’s a great opportunity for children to stay active, build teamwork and confidence, and enjoy playing sport in a comfortable indoor environment, especially during the warmer summer months. No need to worry about heat, rain or washouts — we’ve got it covered!

Please find more information at our website: https://www.springvaleindoorsports.com.au/junior-soccer-league/

Thank you very much for your support!

Learning

Grade 1 – Go Back in Time

Our Grade 1 students have been learning about the past. They have explored schools, technology, and toys and games of the past.

This week, the students have been busy learning how to play many olden day games. They have learnt how to roll hoops, knock over skittles, play quoits and play Pick Up sticks.

Next week, our students will teach the Foundation students how to play these fabulous and fun games.

Grade 2 – Inquiry Making Waterproof Houses

Our Grade 2 students have been learning about materials, states of matter and how to conduct science experiments. As part of our learning, we put our knowledge of materials and their purposes to the test by constructing waterproof houses. We then tested how waterproof our houses were by pouring water over the top. Later, we returned to the classroom and discussed our results, including what worked well and what we could improve. We each suggested an improvement that could be made to our designs. As you can see from these pictures, we had lots of fun while learning!

Grade 3 – Circle of Life

Grade 3 students have been exploring the Circle of Life as part of their inquiry unit. Students are bringing their learning to life, designing animals using a 3D printing program while creating habitats that reflect the environments their animals need to survive.

Term 3 for Grade 4!

Our Term 3 has had us busy as bees with our core studies and learning about Australia in Inquiry. The term came with other highlights such as dressing up for Book Week and R U OK? Day, cheering on three of our fabulous classmates as they participated in Walla’s Got Talent, as well as our amazing excursion to Melbourne Museum! We are looking forward to another awesome term in Term 4!

Grade 5 – Market Day

Last Friday, the Grade 5s ran their small businesses during the annual Market Day. From market research, to logistics and stock purchasing, the students successfully went through the process from inception to end. Market Day 2026 was a great success and raised over $4,000 towards the students graduation next year!

Grade 6 – Sustainable Housing Designs

Our Grade 6 students have been busy bringing their sustainable housing designs to life as part of our Green Homes Inquiry! Working collaboratively in groups, students have planned their homes, designed and drawn electrical circuits, and are now constructing their green homes. Along the way, they have taken on the roles of architects, engineers and future homeowners by bidding for and purchasing a block of land, before writing a formal letter to the council seeking approval to build. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving and teamwork in action. We look forward to sharing their completed creations with you in Term 4!
